The town wasnamed after Robert James Inglis a Scotsman from Montreal, Quebec, who supposedly tailored all of the uniforms for Canadian Pacific Railway.
The Post Office opened on March 15, 1923.
The first Postmaster was Thomas McClennan, who held the position from 1932 until 1932.
