The Town was originally named Bellefields. The name was changed to Neville on August 1, 1912.
It was named for a member of the railway survey crew.
The Post Office opened July 1, 1910. The first postmaster was Thomas B. Murphy, who held the postion from 1910 to 1945.
The current population is 83.
