Postmarked 1947

The first hospital in Theodore was built in 1947. It was a 30 bed unit and at the time was considered by many to be one of the finest small hospitals in Western Canada. The first physician in the facility was Doctor Ben Schwartz. The official opening was on December 17, 1947 with the Hon. T.C. Douglas premier of Saskatchewan officiating. It was replaced in the mid 1980s with the present health care facility.
