T R A N S C O N A

The name Transcona derived from combining Transcontinental with Strathcona, the name of Lord Strathcona, Donald Smith, a former Manitoban who was instrumental in building the Canadian Pacific Railway.
The Post office opened on August 17, 1910.
It is currently part of Winnipeg.
