The Post Office opened on August 23, 1909.
The town was originally named Carlstadt. The name was changed to Alderson on July 1, 1915.
The town was named after General E.A. Alderson, who commanded the Canadian forces in France 1915-6.
Post Office closed on September 29, 1951.
It is currently a "Ghost Town".
